Terms of Service

Last updated 18 June 2026

The short version: scan public URLs you have the right to analyze. Do not use uiscanner to break a site’s terms, infringe a trademark or copyright, or re-publish someone else’s assets. uiscanner describes and tokenizes a page and drafts a build prompt; the output is informational and offered as is, and you are responsible for what you build from it. The full terms below govern.

1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and uiscanner. By using uiscanner, including running a scan without an account, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. If you continue using uiscanner after we update these Terms, you accept the changes.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent where you live) and able to enter into a contract to use uiscanner. If you use uiscanner on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

3. Accounts

uiscanner works anonymously; an account is optional and is provided through Clerk. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your account. One account per person. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms.

4. The service and your license to use it

uiscanner fetches a public URL you submit, produces design tokens and a section-by-section structure breakdown, and drafts an AI-generated build prompt. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use uiscanner for this purpose. We reserve all rights not expressly granted. The service and its output are informational.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Submit URLs you have no right to analyze. Only submit public pages you are permitted to analyze. Do not submit pages behind logins or paywalls you are not authorized to access, or any URL whose analysis would breach that site’s terms or a third party’s rights.
  • Infringe or clone. Do not use uiscanner or its output to wholesale-copy, pixel-replicate, or clone another site, to infringe a copyright or trademark, to pass off another’s brand, or to re-publish or re-host another site’s assets.
  • Abuse or circumvent the service. Do not try to make uiscanner reach private, internal, loopback, or cloud-metadata endpoints or otherwise bypass our URL safety guard; do not evade rate limits, scrape or reverse-engineer the service, resell its output as a competing dataset, or submit malicious URLs.

We may rate-limit, block, or terminate access for violations.

6. Your submissions

You represent that you have the right to submit each URL for analysis and that doing so will not violate any law, the target site’s terms, or a third party’s rights. You are solely responsible for the URLs you submit and for how you use the output. You grant us the rights needed to process your submissions and store our own analysis in order to operate and improve the service, as described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Intellectual property

  • Our property. The uiscanner platform, software, interface, the Explore gallery, our analysis methodology, and the screenshots we capture are owned by uiscanner.
  • How we treat analyzed sites. uiscanner describes and tokenizes a page’s design language and links to original assets. We do not copy, mirror, or re-host a target site’s asset bytes; we store only our own analysis renders. Our output is a new, transformative description intended to help you build something of your own, not a substitute copy of the original.
  • Third parties keep their rights. Analyzed websites, their trademarks, trade dress, and content remain the property of their owners. We claim no ownership of third-party material and do not license it to you. Names and marks of analyzed sites are used only to identify them.
  • Your responsibility. That our analysis is transformative does not make your downstream use transformative. You are responsible for ensuring what you build does not infringe.

8. AI-generated output

As between you and uiscanner, you own the build prompt generated for your submitted URL, and we claim no ownership of it. Because the output is generated by an AI model from your input, similar inputs may produce similar output for other users, and purely AI-generated text may not be protectable by copyright. We make no representation that the output is unique or protectable. The output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable; it is offered for information only, and you are responsible for reviewing it and for what you build from it.

9. Payment, subscriptions, and refunds

Paid plans are sold and processed by Polar, our merchant of record. Polar handles payment processing, sales-tax collection and remittance, refunds, and chargebacks, and your purchase is also subject to Polar’s terms. uiscanner defines the plans, prices, features, and free-tier rate limits.

Paid plans renew automatically each billing period until you cancel through the Polar customer portal. On cancellation or non-payment, your access reverts to the free tier at the end of the paid period. Except where required by law, fees already paid are non-refundable for partial periods; any refunds we grant are processed through Polar. If you have a billing problem, contact us before disputing a charge. We may change pricing or plans prospectively, with notice.

10. Disclaimers

uiscanner and all output are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or availability. Analysis may be incomplete, inferred, delayed, or inaccurate, especially for complex or heavily scripted pages. You are responsible for reviewing the output before relying on it.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, uiscanner will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US$100. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold uiscanner harmless from claims, damages, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from URLs you submitted that you had no right to analyze, your use of the output, or your breach of these Terms or the Acceptable Use section.

13. Third-party sites and services

uiscanner relies on third-party providers (including Clerk, Supabase, Browserbase, Anthropic, Polar, and Netlify) and analyzes third-party websites. We are not responsible for those sites or services, and the sites you analyze are not affiliated with or endorsing uiscanner.

14. Copyright and DMCA takedown

We respect intellectual property rights. Although we store only our own analysis screenshots, public teardowns are published in Explore and at their /t/<id> pages, so if you believe a teardown infringes your copyright, send a notice to our designated copyright agent at misha@uiscanner.com or by mail to uiscanner, Copyright Agent, 270 De Neve Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90024, USA, including: your signature; identification of the work; the URL of the teardown to remove; your contact information; a good-faith statement; and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act.

We will remove validly noticed material promptly and notify the affected user, who may submit a counter-notice. We terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.

15. Termination

You may stop using uiscanner at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach, abuse, non-payment, legal compliance, or security reasons. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law) will survive.

16. Changes to the service and these terms

We may modify, rate-limit, or discontinue features at any time. We may also update these Terms; we will post the updated version with a new date, and for material changes we will give reasonable notice. Your continued use after changes take effect means you accept them.

17. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Before filing a claim, you agree to first contact us at misha@uiscanner.com and try to resolve the dispute informally. Any dispute that is not resolved will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

18. General

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and uiscanner about the service. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. Neither party is liable for delays caused by events beyond its reasonable control.
